Questions & answers
Is Fathom really free?
Yes. Every feature, no limits, no trial, no credit card. We plan to offer optional paid tiers later for cloud sync and household sharing, but the core app will always be free.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Fathom works entirely on your device with no sign-up required. Your data never touches our servers.
Do you sell my financial data?
No. We don't have it. Your financial data lives on your device. We never see it.
What does 'email alert ingestion' mean?
You connect your Gmail or Outlook account. Fathom reads your bank's transaction alert emails on your device and turns them into categorized transactions. Your bank credentials are never involved — and the raw email is discarded after parsing.
Which banks are supported?
At launch, email alert parsing works with the Big 5: RBC, TD, BMO, CIBC, and Scotiabank. OFX and CSV import works with any Canadian institution. More email parsers are coming via app updates.
Will there be paid plans?
Eventually. We're exploring cloud sync, household sharing, and business features as optional paid tiers. The local-first app with all current features will remain free.
